SCHULL - Seer, Wise woman, Troll.
Having never made a troll, designing the shape of the head and what appendages it should have, came down to creating a sense of balance. So three horns appeared and were wired and taped into place for stability. At this stage, it has no name and is neither male or female.
With the edition of two ears and three eyes, the face is taking shape and is beginning to bear the image I have in mind for a troll. One of strength, wisdom and individuality. One serious troll, not to be trifled with.
Finally, she is “Schull” Ancient Wise-woman, Seer and remaining member of the long lost Tall Grasses Tribe.
She stands 18x18x21.5cm on her Redwood stand. She is a combination of Polymer clay, head, hands, feet and scaled hairy tail, hand dyed fabrics and fibres, found objects, beadwork, rusted metal car parts, copper wiring, lead crystal pendant and Yellow Box Gum.
She is attended by her minions, rare ancient breeds of snails who are her life long companions and familiars.
MINIONS - trailing tethers, they are never far from Schull.
